This newly-wed couple wanted to create a bright, fun and relaxing nursery for their first child, and asked us to design a space that would make the most of the limited light and original stone features in their Cornish cottage.
They wanted a gender neutral scheme that could overcome the light from the north facing aspect, and make the most of the beams and stonework in this 18th century Cornish cottage. We created a restful and playful space for baby and parents alike, with a soft lemon and grey colour palette, stimulating birds and a simple, practical changing area.
The bespoke, dimmable wall lights were installed to create a soft space for sleeping and the inevitable night-time visits. The birdhouse theme added a little fun, helped bring the outside in and tied in with the handmade mobile. The darkest corner was used for a reading and rocking nook, with soft blankets and an original Ercol chair sourced from a local antique market.
